We’re so happy to celebrate BreakLine alum, Alexandra Cotugno (Alex), who recently accepted her dream job with Skydio!

Here’s a bit of her story:

“I was raised in Florida. My dad is in sales. My mom moved to the US from Colombia to pursue her dream of being a teacher.

I’ve always been super motivated, driven, and organized. I held jobs throughout college, while also making the Dean’s List.

I derive pride and a sense of accomplishment from achieving my goals. Nothing has been handed to me – I paid my own way.

Blanca, our family friend from Colombia, lived with us while I was growing up. She’s like a second mom, and always says, “Te amo, siempre estoy contigo.” She respects my professional drive and also taught me to enjoy my work and my life too.

I really wanted that combination – an opportunity where I could work hard and have fun doing it. BreakLine Education helped me find it. I always knew Brandon Self and Alexandra Downey had my back if I needed help, even for something as small as how to reply to a recruiter. Their team also helped me realize even more confidence in the path I forged.

When I interviewed with Skydio, everyone was so cool, comfortable, and honest. I applied for a new position with a lot of room for creativity, which I thrive on, and a chance to create a legacy.

My mom is my best friend, and she coaches me to be sure I’m doing right by myself. When I told her I got the job at Skydio, she was elated. She knows this is a dream come true. My brother was super pumped, too; he loves Skydio!”
