BreakLine Education alum Sabrina Reyes-Dods recently joined Palantir Technologies as a site reliability operations analyst. Check out her story!
“I grew up in a Hispanic community with my parents and sisters. In high school, a friend’s mom told me about the Naval Academy. She knew I was physically active and had leadership potential—and it would be free!
After the Naval Academy, I went on to earn a master’s degree in aerospace engineering at MIT, and then served eight years as a nuclear submariner.
When I decided to transition to the private sector, I hustled hard to maximize my opportunities. I joined BreakLine and was immediately interested in Palantir. As a former submariner, I felt compelled by their mission. I wanted to make a measurable and sustainable impact on our world. Palantir does that.
When I received the offer from Palantir, I was ecstatic. I happened to receive multiple offers at the same time, but Palantir’s mission set them apart from the others. Now that I’m here, I realize even more how much Palantir lives and breathes the mission. It’s amazing to be a part of this great company.
My first piece of advice for others looking for a career in tech is to choose what you love. Second, try to enjoy the journey of finding the right fit and reflect on what you learn about yourself as you work hard to prepare and do your interviews. And know that BreakLine can help. The BreakLine community extends far beyond what I imagined. There are great BreakLiners everywhere; it’s fantastic.”
Sabrina, we are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next for you at Palantir. Thanks to Dan R., Zack Weill, Berkeley Hawkins, Kellie Gerardi, and Aidan Dowling for their partnership!
